A pair of rare Italian, Rome, 1820's, 14kt gold tested and micromosaic set on red purpurine glass, drop earrings each with a smaller oval plaque above a larger, each plaque decorated with ancient roman ruins, shepherd hook fastens.
Dimension 4.2 cm long.
Excellent condition commensurate with age.
The monuments pictured are : the left top represents the so called "Tomb of Nero" on the Via Cassia;
The bottom left represents the "Temple of Castor and Pollux" in the Roman Forum;
The ruins on the top right is the "Tomb of the Metelli" on the Via Appia;
The bottom right is the so called "Temple of Jupiter Tonans (the Thunderer)" nowadays the "Temple of Vespasianus and Titus" in the Roman Forum.
